Divinity is defined as the state of being divine, being of, from or like God. When we rise from a place of our physical selves, certain aspects begin to pass away...fear,ego, selfishness, and others ideas begin to take form. Ideas that exudes positivity, ascension and guides us towards our greatest selves. Once you reach this level, you tap into an energy that is not of this physical world, a place of omnipresence, where there is no beginning or end.

Sahasrara is the seventh and last chakra of the energy series; even with it being one of the last chakra it is quite possibly one of the most important of the seven primary chakras.  Appropriately named the Crown Chakra, Sahasrara is known to be our source of enlightenment and all that there is. It...

'Watch your mouth and hold your teeth...'. 'There is power in the tongue...'. 'Be careful of how you speak...'. Chances are if you've heard one of these statements in this lifetime. The throat, outside of it being one of the first parts of digestive process, it is our main communicator. It is how most of us express ourselves and relay information. With it's level of significance, the energy that surrounds it is just as important.

The fifth chakra in the energy series, is known as the Throat Chakra and is the first of the three spiritual chakras. With the Sanskrit name, Vishudda, breaking down to mean 'pure' or 'purification', this chakra is related to the element of sound and encompasses the essence of faith and understanding. Through the throat...

Short of the brain, the heart the most vital organ in the human body. It is responsible for supplying oxygen and other nutrients, it's pumps blood throughout the body, and if it stops pumping we cease living. With such importance and significance of heart, it should be obvious that the heart has an energy surrounding it that is just as pertinent.

The fourth chakra is the next point in the chakra energy flow. The Heart Chakra is located in the center of the chest and it governs the heart, cardiac plexus, thymus gland, lungs and the breasts, as well as the lymphatic system. The Sanskrit term for the fourth chakra is Anahata, which breaks down to meaning 'unstruck' or 'unhurt'. The idea behind the implication of it's name is that under of all of the...

As with anything with life there needs to be a balance. There is no truer statement when it comes to the balance within your chakras. We've discussed the many discrepancies one can experience when the 2nd Chakra also known as the Sacral Chakra is out of balance. Anything from feeling over or under emotional to depression even back pain and infertility in a physical sense can be tell tale signs of an imbalance. So healing is of the utmost importance depending the level of your blockage.

Svadhisthana is known to be the center of pleasure and when this energy is healthy and in flow, it brings about a natural and powerful feeling of intimacy within that individual. There are a variety of ways to heal or release this blockage in this chakra. To start...

As a creative, I often try to find different ways...methods to move through this power. Be it through the practice of yoga, in the expression of the arts, or just generally from the day to day whims of life. To know that there is a place and beyond that a vortex that pulls at each and every one where creative energy rest and flows, is vital to our understanding especially in this study of the chakras.

Svadhisthana is known as the second energy of the chakra alignment and is located directly above the pubic bone and right below the naval, surrounding genital regions as well as the hypogastric plexus.  Often called the Sacral Chakra, relating to the sacrum or apart of the spinal column that is directly with or forms a part of the pelvis and co...

When dealing with issues we tend to look at the issue itself opposed to the underlining problem that may lie. For example if you have back issues, you would say to yourself, 'it must have been the way that slept', if you find yourself upset and easily angered, you would say, 'I'm just having a bad week'.  All too quickly dismissing the issue as just happenstance and not looking too much further beyond that. But as we have discovered those physical, emotional and psychological ailments might be alluding to an imbalanced energy.

When it comes to the healing of yourself, we must first look at the energy that we are holding within.

There are a multitude of ways one can use to find balance and release the blockage that they are experiencing....

Often times we as people tend to look at the issues that we face and the emotions that encompasses it as just happenstance. Certain ailments and conditions, both physically and emotionally, are deemed as being medical or psychological defects that just plague your life. However, have you considered that the reason for these problems are from within and more importantly the solutions can be found there as well?

In my research of the subject matter, I've come to realize that a lot of issues are rooted in the type of energy that we harness inside in our individual selves. Each chakra holds and is responsible for a particular energy that strongly effects a psychological and/or physical portion of us. If you have a pain in a specific part of your body...

Pronounciation: Mull- Lud- Hara

Otherwise known as the root chakra, this the first of the Chakras of Matter or energies based in the physical. This particular energy is located at the base of the spine, by the pelvic floor within the first three vertebrae, and is said to be responsible for our sense of safety and security. The word Muladhara, breaks down into two Sanskrit words; Mula meaning "root" and Adhara which means "support" or "base". The root chakra is commonly comprised of whatever grounds you to the stability within your own personal life. This would include basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and safety. It also includes your more emotional needs such as fears and your ability or lack thereof of letting them go. When these needs...

Mostly of all us desire a balanced lifestyle: mentally, physically and spiritually. When one of these aspects are out of whack in your life, chances are its due to an imbalance. And believe it or not, oftentimes the remedy lies in realignment of the energy within yourself.

This month I've decided to do a series on Chakras and getting a better understanding of what they are and the importance they have to each and every one of us.

So.What is a chakra? The Sanskrit meaning breaks to being a wheel or disk. Speaking in yoga terms the wheel is one comprised of energy set throughout the physical body. There are seven main chakras which align the spine, starting from the base through the crown of the head. Each chakra contains a bundle of nerves a...

The word 'yoga' or yuj derives from the ancient Indic language of India called Sanskrit, and commonly known to mean 'to yoke' or 'to join'. According to Yoga Online 'Yoga is a practical aid, not a religion. Yoga is an ancient art that's based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with their environment. This is a simplified general  definition.

Yoga could mean many things depending on who's defining it. For me yoga has helped bring me a sense of peac...
