Take Your Control Back: How to Heal Your Svadhisthana (Chakra Series)

As with anything with life there needs to be a balance. There is no truer statement when it comes to the balance within your chakras. We've discussed the many discrepancies one can experience when the 2nd Chakra also known as the Sacral Chakra is out of balance. Anything from feeling over or under emotional to depression even back pain and infertility in a physical sense can be tell tale signs of an imbalance. So healing is of the utmost importance depending the level of your blockage.

 

Svadhisthana is known to be the center of pleasure and when this energy is healthy and in flow, it brings about a natural and powerful feeling of intimacy within that individual. There are a variety of ways to heal or release this blockage in this chakra. To start one can just simply do more of what makes them happy, be it singing, dancing, exercising, as long as it brings a level of delight to you. Another option is of course meditation, which brings an overall sense peace and relaxation. However when meditating try to envision the color orange, the representative color of the Sacral Chakra; allow the color to shine brightly and boldly in it's space (between the naval and the pelvis). When meditating also dwell on the idea of letting go; let go of unhealthy and toxic emotions, people and memories that haunt you. The idea behind releasing this negativity that encompasses your life is as crucial and important as life itself, as the release makes room for better opportunities to come your way.

In addition to meditation, there are certain yoga asanas that can help achieve balance and alignment within the Sacral Chakra. The Seated Pelvis Circles, sitting in a cross legged or a Half Lotus position with your hands on your knees, begin to make full circles with your torso. You can also try the Baddha Konasana (Butterfly Pose) with a Forward Bend, in a seated position bring the bottoms of your feet together, allow your knees drop to the sides and bring your heels closer to your pelvis, begin to lengthen your torso and fold forward. Another position you can try is the Cobra Pose, by lying on your stomach with the tops of your feet flat on the floor, place your hands under your shoulders and slowly begin to lift your head, chest and abdomen all while keeping your naval on the floor and pressing down through the pubic bone. Lastly you can try to performing a Sun Salutation, a series of yoga poses performed in a flowing format; though good at any time, it's best when its done upon waking up as they give great boost of energy to take you throughout your day.

Chanting is also effective in unblocking the energy flow. The mantra sound that is commonly associated with this chakra, is VAM, the vibration alone will open and align the Svadhisthana. Also keeping in mind the color of the sacrum, orange, you can use gemstones such as amber, calcite orange, hematite or carnelian to help with alignment. It's best if these stones are used during meditation by lying them on or around the area where that energy resides.

There are a multitude of ways to heal yourself naturally. Correcting the flow of your energies, once again, is not thought to be of any significance yet is possibly one of the most powerful ways to naturally produce results. Unlocking your potential to happiness and peace of mind ought to be the ultimate life goal, however you need to first understand the parts of yourself that needs to be healed...to be cured in order to achieve this. Come to a place of admittance, and through this truth you'll begin to find your freedom.
